Thanks! One thing I've noticed: As the break is held by the second finger it is extremely obvious to the spectator. To close the gap I have to press down quite hard with the first finger, but this makes the exection of the pass a lot more difficult. Is that how it should be done and simply...
Hi guys,
I've been working on the one handed shift these last few weeks and it's gotten pretty fluid by now. Obviously I still have a lot of work to do to get it really good, but it's coming along well enough that I'm starting to think about ways to cover this move. Anybody got any tips?
Thank...
I second most of what Mr_ARPY wrote. I can't say anything about the rest because I don't really know them first hand myself. Most of the things (probably all) are cheating moves. There are some great sources about those moves out there, including Jason England. You can buy his work on many of...
Agree one hundred percent. But there are some things on which I'll of course consult other sourches as well. For example, as far as I've seen Mr Forte uses the Erdnase grip for dealing, which I don't like too much. So I hope he includes other grips as well. Even if he doesn't I think a little...
That's true. When I got to magic I had to really rewire the way I thought about book prices; 40-100$ seems to be a normal price for a really good magic book.
But this work will probably be exceptional, written by one of the greatest of his time, containing more or less his life's work -- that's...
Makes sense. He seems to have said himself that he wants to retire (beneath the linked Facebook page above). He seems to (have) be(en) pretty active on The Magic Café forums; he's registered there and on YouTube as "unknown419". From what people on other forums say he seems to be pretty nice and...
Thanks a lot! This deck switch is the one shown in the Facebook clip?
PS: Why can't you share a link? I've just read the forum rules and I didn't see anything about links. Does that fall under the category exposure?
Little update on what I found out since posting this thread: Steve Forte will be releasing a book in the course of the year. This has been confirmed by Jason England (on The Magic Café forums, in case anybody wants to see for him-/herself), who was present at least at some of the shoots for the...
Beforehand: I'm not quite sure this is the right place to post this question, if it isn't I'd appreciate it if you could tell me where I can repost it.
Hi guys,
Especially over at The Magic Café I've heard some talk about a guy who calls himself Doc. He is supposedly among the greatest card...
Hi guys!
Steve Forte is probably one of the best and certainly one of the most respected cardsmen out there. Especially his skill with gambling techniques is incredible.
But I haven't found any book or DVD in which he teaches any of those techniques. Of course, there's the Gambling Protection...
Hi guys,
I've heard a lot about the table faro and set out to learning it myself, as it's a really cool move to do. But I have one question: Apart from stacking the deck, what can I actually use it for?
Thank you for your input!
Actually I have a problem with always necktying a bit too much, even when dealing fair. So tilting the deck down can't be the problem. Keep in mind that I have this problem when doing the push-over second deal, I guess if the card isn't exactly on one level with the deck the top card will always...
Thanks a lot! Of course, practise is what I need most at this point - as I'd mentioned I've only just started the strike -, but I thought a few tips here and there wouldn't hurt.
Thank you for the help!
Hi guys, me again.
This will really be two questions, one for the push-over and one for the strike second.
When I do the push-over second deal (I do it as Erdnase teaches with the thumb pushing over two cards at the top of the deck, not at the side) my trouble is that the top card is always...
