    Magician Vs. Trick Man

There´s another level of communication between a trick man and the audience and a magician and the audience. The communication skills of a magician are, or should be, superior. For me, a trick man is someone who just does tricks. He doesn´t care much about the audience, the focus is on his...

what is your favourite 5 magicians in the world

Well yes. And I think it depends on the age. Go to E-Forum and you´ll see Brad Christian as one of the favorite magicians in 'Who is your favorite magicians'- threads. That shouldn´t sound disrespectful (I have nothing against BC), but when someone mentiones BC as a favorite magician, leaving...

what is your favourite 5 magicians in the world

It´s a bit OT, but do you know that H.P. Lovecraft has written a novelette with/about Houdini? It´s called 'Imprisoned with the Pharaos' or 'Under the Pyramids' and worth reading. And there´s a 3D-Software named after him.

    The Faro Shuffle

UncleMings recommendations are great. RCT is a classic. Marlo has done a hell of a lot work on the faro. Ackerman also don´t only teach the faro, he explains and shows the practical use of it on his DVD. http://www.michaelclose.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10 is also good...

    Ebooks recommended?

I suggest learning the faro shuffle. It´s not nearly as hard as you may think, and you don´t need years or decades to perfect it, like the classic pass. At least not the in-the-hand-faro. The faro is a great tool for memorize deck work (Tamariz stack) and you won´t regret it. ebook...

    Erdnase Hero or Villain?

Isn´t Wesley James 'The Man who killed Erdnase' ? I think he killed him with a color changing knife and his infamous (Charlier) cut...

Who is the modern day Erdnase?

Vernon is more than just the next Erdnase (a guy who wrote a classic, but nobody knows who he really was)to me. He (together with Marlo) was probably the most influencal magician of the 20.century. He contributed more than Erdnase in my opinion, because he made magic more popular and socially...

    5 Points for beginners

Nice read! Read and study each book before getting something new is the best advise I´ve ever got! I think we all suffer, more or less, from the 'Next Book Syndrome'. Darwin Ortiz wrote a very nice article about that and he says that you don´t need the latest and greatest material but instead...

Best Card Magic Book To Get?

It´s a bit overrated in my opinion by today´s standards. It´s not a bad book (a few gems in it), but Mr.Lorayne himself stated that it´s not his best book and his later books are much better. I agree (I own Classic Collection 1 + 2). I´m with RealityOne. I think Card College is the single most...

    Magic Cafe?

Generally I find the quality of the threads in the cafe very high. Constructive discussions on a relatively high level. I really like the special guest of honor forum. A great idea and it´s so much fun to ask your personal hero a question or read through it. That´s the good. The bad: 1...

(False) shuffles and the pass (classic and herrmann pass). Especially the faro shuffle is addictive.
