It felt rushed. And I don't understand why you changed it. Loading the card in the box and showing it empty yourself instead of having your spec doing it weakens the effect. And it only takes a few seconds to have your spec sign the card. My advice is, unless you can strengthen the effect...

My favorite piece of impromptu magic specifically designed for being seated at a table is Karrell Fox's Napkin Vanish. It's super visual and just plain brilliant. This is the one Tom Mullica has performed and taught in a few places.

It isn't too hard to figure out where he's used camera edits. But even so, there are videos all over YouTube from careful observers exposing his camera trick effects and breaking them down. Do a search and you'll find quite a bit.

Especially since it would involve resurrecting Chappy Brazil from the dead.

If Apollo ever puts out a DVD on his pickpocketing techniques it will sell like hotcakes. People have been waiting for this for a long time. Hopefully one day it will happen. Until then, Chappy Brazil's Watch Steal DVD continues to remain the best.

"Spectators aren't stupid, they know what a double lift is." That's a general statement about all your spectators. If that's not what you meant then perhaps you should work on writing with a bit more clarity.
