Fournier 605 Deck Review (Lee Asher Series)

Sorry for the late response here, I can't answer from personal experience as 505s are harder to come by where I am at. From my understanding it is less in the stock and finish and more in the quality control down the line. It might be akin to the difference you will feel in one of the T11 bee...

    Camera Tricks Are OK!

Camera tricks....no. Camera editing...Yes! We can't have it both ways. We all use tricks that will require a bit of misdirection. If you want to perform one of those tricks on camera a bit of editing will be required. Angles are also a factor. The only other option is revealing some great...

    Swallowing Needle/Thread Effect

You could also check out Dan Sperry's "Notes about Nothing." It has a razor blade swallowing illusion that IF you follow instructions can be fairly safe. (At least as safe as any effect where you put a non edible item in your mouth) Not exactly needles but essentially the same effect.

    Jason England - Palming

I strongly recommend just getting "Fundamentals." It is a fabulous visual resource that will get you started on most of the techniques you are interested in. It does not cover the gambler's cop but it will cover his palming fundamentals, McMillan switch, and the Diagonal Palm shift. It also...

    Flash By Chad Long

Flash by Chad Long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfLImt6oMZM Effect: This is, simply put, the color changing knives with a computer USB flash drive. R.Paul Wilson calls this “Flashtastic”….Okay, Cheezy taglines aside it was a brilliant idea to update the color changing knives. Price...

    Piatnik Club: Deck review

Piatnik Club: (4th Week and Final Update) Well I have to admit that at the end of the 4th week it is actually performing better than it was on my last update. The primary reason seems to be that many of the clumping issues seemed to have worked themselves out. It is similar to how a Fournier...

How to push two cards as one?

I agree that whatever technique you choose will take lots of practice but other than the reference to Expert Card Technique I haven't heard many sources to learn a basic technique so I'll offer a few. As was mentioned, the "One Handed Push Off" technique technique is taught on page 9-11 of...

    Piatnik Club: Deck review

Piatnik Club: (2 & 1/2 Week Update) Okay so I haven’t been ignoring this review but the combination of a mild case of tendonitis and being caught in the middle of a move kind of stalled my updates. I have been recording the hours on this decks and by those scores I’m a few hours shy of...

    Derren Brown suggestibility

HaHa! Sorry to get a chuckle out of this. Welcome to the world of mentalism...where the pseudo-method is often the biggest form of misdirection their is. I've only been studying mentalism for about 4 or 5 months and I have already discovered that telling a spectator how you accomplish your "mind...

    No double for Lennart?

I don't think that should be surprising. It just seems that as you get better at card magic your reliance on a DL steadily decreases. When I first started I used it all the time, now I'd say I use maybe one DL in an ACR and only 50% of the routines I perform use a DL.

    Peerless deck

Nice review. These sure look nice. I'll have to keep my eye out for them. What company produces them? USPCC?

    Foundations: Help with bottom deal.

That bible edition is actually really handy. 1st off it looks really cool, 2nd. it is small enough that you really can carry it with you wherever you go. 3rd. you really should support what those guys are trying to do.

Would you like to see a T11 smooth finish deck?

I believe a calendering machine simply super heats and presses the black liner board giving it a glossier and more durable finish. Perhaps this is the part of the process where USPCC adds their cambric dimples but it doesn't mean that a smooth finished deck hasn't gone through a calendering process.

    Foundations: Help with bottom deal.

Robert, thanks for all the tips and the offer for the video evaluation. I might take you up on it if I get a chance. As for your question about how Mechanics is easier, I only meant in terms of stabilizing the deck. My bottom deals suck regardless of which grip but it feels like I will have more...

    Piatnik Club: Deck review

Piatnik Club: (1 Week Update) Overall these cards have maintained their snappy power but certain fanning and performance characteristics are on the decline. They already have the feel of a deck that could conceivably last a good long time provided they are well cared for(eg. in hands other...

Would you like to see a T11 smooth finish deck?

I'm in the process of reviewing another smooth finish deck (Piatnik Clubs) and it got me thinking about USPCCs smooth finish decks. The Steamboat (RIP) beloved by many magicians, and Aladdin 1001s, another highly sought after deck. It seems that, with the exception of perhaps the Aviators, many...

    Foundations: Help with bottom deal.

HaHa...well being an adult waiting for my hands to grow isn't a real option...unless I stick them on a wrack! To be honest I'm surprized I'm having so much trouble. My fingers are kind of short but I have large palms so all together they average out and I would say I have pretty normal size...

    Foundations: Help with bottom deal.

Okay thanks for all the input. So, if I hear you right Robert, you are saying that other problems will develope down the road If I don't learn the Erdnase...correct? Because right now I can do it with decent control from the mechanics grip but amost no control from Erdnase. I'll try it with the...
