im sure there is someone on the site who might be willing to give you a guest pass. Just give it a little time and someone will respond.

however be sure to conduct yourself respectfully and politely, your not just representing yourself but also the member who gave you the in.

Heya, if you are under 21 then you can only go to the castle on saturdays and sundays for the brunch. You must remember it is a very exclusive club. Yes you do need to know a magician to get in because you need a guest pass for the brunch. I happen to be a member so if you can PM me. I'll be happy to get you in.

I would just wait until you are 21 so you can be there to enjoy the exclusive evening atmosphere of a fine dinner and entertainment. I went two summers ago and saw the Pendragons, Sylvester the Jester, and a few others. It was outstanding. Dinner for 4 though was around $200 but we all had filet mignon and a mixed adult beverage each. Johnny Ace Palmer hooked me up with the guest passes.

I've been really interested in the magic castle... Since I live all the way on the other side of the US, I really don't know much about it... Can someone tell me what it is? Is it just a REALLLY REALLY big magic shop? I know there are performances there, and Now I'm hearing they serve food there... Is it like a hotel for Magicians?

It's like a private club, basically. They've got private dinners, stage shows, learning experience for those under 18 (or whatever age is the cutoff for the juniors)... And yes, they've got a magic shop. Check out their site at http://www.magiccastle.com/ . The site and a few guys around here (Like Shin and Anna) could probably tell you more, they're members of the Castle.

And as far as I know, no, it is not a hotel. You can't check in and stay overnight :).

Sorry Sabor, but I am going to have to call you out on this one. Some of your information was correct, but the rest, not so much. Starting from the beginning. Sabor was right that it is a private club, one that you have to be 21 or older to enter (unless you have junior membership to the Academy of Magical Arts). It is high class, and those attending have to wear coats and ties to get in (there are a few exceptions, but just know that you have to dress well to get in. They have many different rooms you can visit to watch others perform, and a lot of the top names in magic go there to strut their stuff. The restaurant there is ranked up there. They have a huge library from which you can sit down and study if you are a magician member with the AMA. The Magic Castle does have a hotel, and that is the other way you can get in if you are not a member and don't have a guest pass. Go here for information about that:

The hotel mainly serves celebrities passing through and magicians who are slated to perform at the Magic Castle. Though, if you wanted, you could set up a reservation and pay out the wazoo to get in.
Overall, if you are looking to getting in there are a couple of ways. Number one- be a member, though that can get expensive if you are only visiting once a year. Number two, know a member and get a guest pass from them (It is about twenty bucks to get in, plus you have to pay for meals, unless you are attending with that member). Number three, be a guest at the hotel. And number four, be a member of SAM or IBM and call ahead to let them know you are coming. They usually hook those guys up that are coming from far away.
This is most of the research that I have with the Magic Castle and some small details might be off, but over all, it is correct.

He is not joking about the high class dress code. I watched them turn away quite a few people the night I was there who thought they would just come in wearing a golf polo and khaki shorts.

So since I'm a member of the IBM, I could get in there for free? Or does it still cost money? I'm talking about this all hypothetically because I'm probably not going to go anyways untill I'm 21...

Don't quote me on this, but I believe you still have to pay the same as a guest pass, 20 dollars. Plus you have to order food there.

I have been meaning to test this out, but supposedly military do not have to pay if they show up in their service uniform... Next time...
