Which Coins Do You Use?

I don't do coin magic so much anymore, but when I do, I use some random euros. But due the increasing needs for Kennedy halves I am going to purchase some of these excellent coins soon!

My primary coin of use are Kennedy half dollars. In addition, since quarter dollars -- more commonly known as quarters -- are ubiquitous in the United States, I also prefer using them, as well. Gold chocolate coins would have to be my favorite, though, as they are the easiest to vanish. ;)

Cheers,

But i was at a flea market and found some cool old Chinese coins from the 1940's. There are usually some cool looking coins to be found in flea markets and antique stores.

Cheers!

I'm not going to specify which coins because most of you probably use dollars, which I don't use. I collect the shiny coins that people give me as change when I buy something. I use those so the coins don't have much contrast in color and the fact that they look so good when doing magic. As for size, I like the coin to be large enough for grips and small enough to hide easily. For Sinful though, I use the smallest coins available here. Our soda cans have small openings, unlike what Wayne uses in his performances of Sinful.

As European, I used euros when I performed coin magic. Nowadays I don't perform anything with coins anymore. When I sometimes practise with coins, I use some old coins that have some sort of asian figures on them.

I use some nice soft Morgans and Walking Liberties. I have some old metal $1 tokens from the Mirage casino that are larger and heavier than a Morgan. I practice with those sometimes. Kind of a medicine ball theory. I practice with the giant coins, then my Morgans feel like quarters.

Speaking of chocolate coins, I used to be able to buy chocolate Kennedy halves in silver foil. They looked almost exactly like a shiny new half. I'm almost out of my stock now, and the place I bought them is out of business. Anyone have any leads?

why not borrow? Well, for one, it's easier to palm/manipulate larger coins. there is a larger impact when a large coin is vanished, versus a penny, and lastly, if you vanished someone elses coin, they would be mad at you!

for now, i use kennedies, but i'd like to get soft walking liberties. I've been thinking about getting Jamie's set, with the shell.

I live in Sweden, and the coins in use here are pretty ugly, if anyone has ever seen them. Though recently, I purchased from a coin shop some dollar and half dollar coins. The dollars in particular are in my opinion stunningly beautiful coins - Silver Eagles, with the Walking Liberty on the obverse. They really are a pleasure to work with. :)

I use regular U.S. halves, but you guys don't seem to understand that if you walk into a bank, go past the ATM's and give the people a couple bucks, they can get you that amount in whatever coin you want. I went in, gave them 2 bucks and i got 4 half dollars.
