Pep Talk: What's Your Play List?

We all have been there. You've got a gig later today, and you feel like crap. You've been in a rut. You're magic doesn't feel like it's getting any better, your friends tell you you're chasing a pipe dream, and if you get paid for your work, it never seems like enough to pay the bills or justify getting out of bed for it.

Talk about suffering for your art! Yet if you don't go out there every day and give it your all you know you won't make it. So what do you do? I find having a certain play list on my ipod helps give me the attitude adjustment that I need to go out and give it my all.

Here's my list.

"Fields of Glory": The High Kings
"Lose Yourself": EminEm
"Back in the Loop": E-Type
"Karma": Kamelot
"Here I Go Again": E-Type Feat NaNa
"We Will Rock You": Queen
"Mitternach" E Nomine
"Welcome to the Jungle": Guns N' Roses
"Sympathy for the Devil": Guns N' Roses
"Paint it Black": Rolling Stones
"Princes of the Universe": Queen
"Numb": Linkin Park
"Bleed it Out": Linkin Park
"In the End": Linkin Park

What's yours?

Man In The Mirror - Michael Jackson
Tuesday's Gone - Lynard Skynard
It's Gonna Be Alright - The Ramones
Paperback Writer - The Beatles
Tommy Gun - The Clash
Jam - Michael Jackson
Crazy Nights - KISS

That is a super condensed version.

Saosin - Self titled album (MUST get the special edition on itunes with the bonus track at the end, "Let Go Control")

Secret And Whisper - Great White Whale album (this has a very mysterious sound to it, always gets me in the mood for magic)

BTW, your friends should be more supportive! Sounds like you have some toxic friends, or "frienemies"

in no particular order:

Desert Rose - Sting
Lisztomania - Phoenix
If I Ever Feel Better - Phoenix
What We Are Destined To Do - EGADZ!
Sound Check (Gravity) - Gorillaz
The Comedown - Bring Me The Horizon
Viva La Vida - Coldplay
Talk - Coldplay
Square 1 - Coldplay
Violet Hill - Coldplay

and any song by Mindless Self Indulgence.

They all convey a message that varies from "It's all good, buddy," to "You're not the only one," to "KICK SOME ASS". It's a beautiful speed-ball mix of healthy and crazy vibes. Centers me:cool:
