Maybe this is a dumb question, but can it damage your eyes? Not physically from the flash paper, but the sparks and the light? Tell me if I need to make more sense...

I was looking at the picture and from what I can gather is that the flash paper adds to the magical effect of the card changing colors. From a spectators point of view that does look pretty rad. I've seen that same type of principle used in various other effects like torn and restored newspaper and etc.

I am very interested in this effect.

How much flash paper do you need to use for this effect? Because it's pretty hard to come by where I live and a bit pricey. :(

Will I go through loads or will I just need a small piece each time?

I can totally see me getting this effect, lol. It has fire, and a flickering card. What more could I want?

I did hear someone mention that it doesn't work particularly well under neon, or strip lighting. Are there recommended conditions where the effect should be performed? Or lighting conditions that should be avoided? Is that explained in the DVD/download?
