Hi guys,
A few days I got the idea of using a crimp in a demo of finding the aces: While riffle shuffling, you crimp the top card (the ace), give the deck a few more cuts and shuffles and let a spectator cut to the last ace.
I don't expect this idea to be new, so I'll ask what your experiences...
Hello everybody,
Searching for Andrew Wimhurst's "Down Under Deals" I stumbled across a site that sells it as PDF for $3. I know the answer is probably quite obvious (especially as it also sells Penguin Lectures for $4), but I wanted to be sure: This site is probably a piracy website, isn't it...
Hi you all,
Lately I've been reading up on the punch deal. It seems like a really good idea (which Marlo's performance confirms), but I still have some questions I haven't found aswered yet. No. 1: How reliable is it? In his performance Marlo calls the hand he'll deal himself before dealing. But...
Hi guys,
After having read a few similar threads lately I was wondering about whether you could recommend me some good movies about card cheating or casino heists. My personal criteria: It should be a fairly good movie of course (acting-wise; the plot should ideally be a little less twisted and...
Hi guys,
The last few days I've taken a good look at Steve Forte's "Gambling Protection Series" and I'm seriously thinking about getting it. However, as does cost a lot of money (for me), I want to be quite sure. So for all those who know this DVD: How well can you learn from it? I know it...
Quick note: I already posted this thread on the Magic Forum, but only later realized that it would probably fit better here. Moderators, please feel free to delete the thread posted in the wrong section. Thank you for your hard work!

Hi guys,
A few days ago there was a thread about your...
Hi guys,
A few days ago there was a thread about your favorite magic movie. I'd like to be a little more specific: What's your favorite magic/card cheating (or any other form of cheating at games, for that matter) scene in a non-magic movie or book?
Though I don't know many such scenes my...
Hi guys,
I'd be interested in knowing who you think the best modern sleight-of-hand artist is. Of course this is highly subjective; some people say it's Teller, some say it's Shin Lim, others say it's Ricky Jay. Anyway, I'd like to know what you think.
For the purpose of this discussion I don't...
Hi guys,
I know this is a controversial topic with no ultimate right answer, because it differs from person to person, depending on several factors, the most obvious being, of course, how much time you spend practicing it. However, I'd be interested in what time you think one needs to perfect...
Hi guys,
I've been really interested in learning hand mucking techniques lately. I got the Father Alex Download from Vanishing Inc., but as there are only three mucks taught there I'd like to have something more in depth. Plus, I'd like to hear another perspective on it as well.
Do you have any...
"Moves that many today consider to be 'simple' are the moves that the masters of the previous generation built their careers on. Berglas' card work can be summed up with a good memory, a perfect fan, and the Glide (and the ability to jazz his way through a situation)."
The above was written by...
Hi guys,
For the last 8 months or so I've been practicing gambling sleight of hand (false shuffles, deals and passes mostly), but I'd like to start with magic moves as well. My problem: There are so incredibly many moves out there, it's difficult to know which to start with.
I know it's really...
Hi guys,
This card reveal seems to be fairly commonly used and looks quite cool: The card is flicked out of the middle of the deck and caught by the magician in his other hand. It'd be fantastic if you could tell me what this reveal is called, as I'd really like to learn it.
Two demonstrations...
Hi guys,
Up 'til now I've only done card sleight of hand, but I'm quite interested in starting coin magic as well. A few days ago I stumbled upon Vanishing Inc.'s "Innocent", which teaches 7 coin routines and 22 techniques for £12. Can anybody tell me anything about it? Is it good for a beginner...
Hi guys,
This is something I've been thinking about from time to time and Seth Hughes with his question about piano magic reminded me that I'm right at The Source For All Knowledge right here. So my question is, can you think of something magical I could do with a drumset (or other percussion...
Hi guys,
I've been working on the one handed shift these last few weeks and it's gotten pretty fluid by now. Obviously I still have a lot of work to do to get it really good, but it's coming along well enough that I'm starting to think about ways to cover this move. Anybody got any tips?
Thank...
Beforehand: I'm not quite sure this is the right place to post this question, if it isn't I'd appreciate it if you could tell me where I can repost it.
Hi guys,
Especially over at The Magic Café I've heard some talk about a guy who calls himself Doc. He is supposedly among the greatest card...
Hi guys!
Steve Forte is probably one of the best and certainly one of the most respected cardsmen out there. Especially his skill with gambling techniques is incredible.
But I haven't found any book or DVD in which he teaches any of those techniques. Of course, there's the Gambling Protection...
Hi guys,
I've heard a lot about the table faro and set out to learning it myself, as it's a really cool move to do. But I have one question: Apart from stacking the deck, what can I actually use it for?
Thank you for your input!
Hi guys, me again.
This will really be two questions, one for the push-over and one for the strike second.
When I do the push-over second deal (I do it as Erdnase teaches with the thumb pushing over two cards at the top of the deck, not at the side) my trouble is that the top card is always...
